1. Rediff conducts an opinion poll on a proposal by Mrs. Sushma Swaraj that Gita be our national book. The results are shocking. When I clicked on ‘Yes’, out of 1lakh responses by then, 55% seem to say ‘No’, whereas 44% only say ‘Yes’. Please give your opinion too. Use the link:
2. Just to remind you that Annual Summer Residential Camp of Samskrita Bharati will start from 27th April evening 6pm. Participants can leave by 9am on 9th May. All in the age group of 13 to 60 are eligible. Place is Pioneer High School, TNGO Colony, Katedan, Hyd. Contact 9440557722 or 9491869417. There would a batch for ‘new to Skt’ as well.
3. Telangana Govt’s GO9 provides for any one of (Samskritam, Arabic, Hindi) under II language from Class 6 to 10 at school level.All Samskrit organizations are keen to make this a success. A Telangana Rashtra Samskrita Sadassu is organized at Sura Bharati, OU Campus’ Vidyanagar Entrance, on 26/04/15 from 10am to 4pm (with lunch arrangements) to discuss this mainly under the guidance of Sri Mrutyunjaya Sarma garu (KCR’s Guruji) and Dr AravindaRao, the 2 officers behind the GO, etc. Those retired as Tel/Skt teachers and others who can teach 6thclass book at a local school too could help Samskrit fraternity. Please join and show love for the language.
4. Please join the national discussion on ‘New Education Policy’. (a) Log on to ‘www.mygov.in’, (b) Register by giving details, (c) Create your account using OTP, (d) Login with Mobile# (once again OTP), (e ) Go to Groups and click ‘New Edu Policy’. You would see 33 points for discussion. I filled in my views on ‘Promotion of Languages’ under ‘Child Education’; and ‘Promotion of Cultural Intergration through Languages’ under ‘Higher Educatin’. You may like many more points. Please use this channel to speak up. Last date is 30/04/2015. So hurry up.
5. In place of Gita on 26/04/15 at KMIT, (due to above GO9 meeting), we are having it on 25/04/15 at Gaddi Annaram.
